maiam Releases “River of Thyme” — A Mythic 21-Track Musical Journey Through England, Memory, Literature, and Inner Transformation
San Francisco, CA — May 26, 2026 — For immediate release
Artist, writer, and world-builder maiam releases River of Thyme, a 21-track immersive album inspired by a literary voyage through England. Blending mythology, spoken word, cinematic electronic music, poetry, ambient storytelling, and spiritual inquiry, the album unfolds as a living river of memory, history, healing, and imagination.
Created during travels through Bath, Glastonbury, Stonehenge, Oxford, and along the Rivers Avon and Thames, River of Thyme emerged organically from lived experiences, dreams, synchronicities, and poetic encounters. What began as a research journey into mythology and world-building for Wonderworld — maiam’s evolving creative universe centered around peace, consciousness, and human potential — transformed into a deeply personal musical archive of England’s energetic and literary landscapes.
“This album wasn’t planned,” says maiam. “I traveled to England researching mythology, literary history, and the architecture of imagination. Instead, the places themselves began speaking through music. Each song arrived as an experience, a question, or a portal.”
The album opens with Love Within, an exploration into the nature of love itself — inspired by reflections on romantic storytelling and the human longing to embody love in everyday life. From there, the listener journeys through sacred sites, literary histories, rivers, wells, dreams, and identity itself.
Tracks such as Chalice Well and Stonehenge were inspired by time spent in Glastonbury’s Chalice Well Gardens and at Stonehenge during the Spring Equinox, where maiam carried written intentions for Wonderworld and universal peace. Oxford Girls honors the women historically denied degrees at Oxford despite completing their studies, while In the Shadow of the Inklings emerged from poetry gatherings in a historic pub once frequented by Tolkien and C.S. Lewis.
The album also explores mythology and symbolic identity through songs like Minerva, River Goddess of Many Names, Unicorns, and Caer Sidi, weaving together ancient stories with modern reflections on technology, consciousness, belonging, and transformation.
One of the album’s emotional centerpieces, Blue Crystal Night Dream, was released during a period of deep global uncertainty. After questioning whether to release the ‘mirror bridge’ single at all, maiam received a message from a listener sharing that the music had helped save his life — affirming the deeper intention as a work of emotional resonance and human connection.
Throughout the album runs a recurring thread: thyme itself.
“I was gifted a piece of thyme from the Chalice Well gardens,” says maiam. “It traveled with me through England in my journals, on my body, and eventually beside my computer while creating this album. The album became a river of thyme — memories, myths, histories, futures, and frequencies flowing together.”
River of Thyme combines cinematic electronic production with ambient textures, spoken-word passages, dance rhythms, symphonic elements, and poetic lyricism. Each song functions as both a standalone story and part of a larger inquiry into history, identity, healing, and the possibility of building a more peaceful future through imagination and awareness.
A deeper exploration of each song, its mythology, and the larger Wonderworld universe is available on maiam’s website.
